South Florida Chapter Members: I would like to wish everyone Happy Holidays and may 2012 bring health and much success to you and your These are the major SF Chapter activities since the June 18 meeting: - We were successful in recruiting 44 dues-paying members - Our Chapter was featured in the 4th quarter Encore publication, Rudy Treml and Luis the article http://chevronretirees.org/Libraries/Encore/Encore_4Q_2011.sflb.ashx - Met Life Dental provided enrollment kits to all the chapter members - A small group of Chapter members (the original Social Group Founders) met 3 times in the last 5 months - Many updates were made to the SF Chapter website, if you have not visited it go to the following address: http://www.crasouthflorida.com - I always welcome your suggestions how we can improve our Chapter website. - When you access our SF Chapter website make sure to explore the Chevron related links which direct ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ We selected Saturday, February 4, 2012 for the next general membership lunch-meeting. These are the overall - It will be held at La Casita Restaurant located near the intersections of SW 117th Ave and 72nd Street, - Cost will be $25 per person which includes tip and tax, and a choice of three entrees. Details will be - Various door prizes will be raffled. - We expect a couple of speakers to discuss subjects of interest to the members. - We are going to kick-off the 2012 membership drive to recruit new members. Meeting on June 18, 2011
The first meeting of the South Florida Chapter was held on June 18, 2011 at the Havana-Miami Restaurant in Miami.
Luis Weiss presided over the meeting, Rudy Treml, the VP of the South Atlantic Area welcomed the new Chapter and reviewed how CRA operates and its many benefits.
The Chapter officers for the 2011-2012 period were elected.
Luis Weiss - President, Derek Lyth - Vice President, Diana Israel - SecretaryIt was an opportunity to see previous fellow workers, meet retirees from other legacy companies, and make new friends.
The South Florida Chapter expects to have social events 3 times per year.
